Have had these shoes for about a week and am very pleased with them - they are a good looking shoe, and they do what they say in that they keep your foot central in the shoe. They are indeed comfortable apart from the tongue is rather stiff and digs in a bit when you first put them on. Once you get walking you don't feel it, but initially it is a little uncomfortable. I accept this, as am very happy with the shoe in general and they are great for hot summer days too. I would like to get a boot version for the winter and would be prepared to spend the money to get the performance that this shoe provides, mainly the way it supports your foot and keeps you walking straight. Thick socks would probably help with the rather stiff tongue digging in. The laces are not a problem if you do a tight tie and a double knot. A great shoe all round in my view, especially seeing as on top of everything they are waterproof too - have yet to test this however!
Tested the waterproofness and my feet stayed dry! The tongue that was initially stiff softened - they are so comfortable and light I will be buying another pair before the soles eventually wear out!
BE WARNED! Since writing this review, these excellent walking shoes seem to have changed in shape and fit. They are now wider, longer and don't fit as my previous 3 pairs have! Maybe I was unlucky with the last pair (which I had to send back), I do hope so!

i have been wering merrell trainers now for the past few years, they are so comfortable even when they are new. the merrell women's siren sport are great they are comfortable, they have geat support and they are waterproof. a great buy.
