Shoes look good and feel comfortable at first, then you wear them when the ground is wet, far from being waterproof these shoes are like sponges and your feet get rubbed raw in them. It doesn't have to be raining, my pair were sodden after i took my dogs for a walk on a clear morning after a little light rain the night before.I think the better reviews were written by people who had not tested them yet. Hi-tec have a real nerve calling these waterproof. For indoor use only they are ok but if you are looking to wear them outdoors you need to choose a better manufacturer like merrell or salomon, dont make the mistake of buying these cheap like i did.

Bought these based on previous generally positive reviews. I accept that the walking shoes are not the most expensive shoes on the market but I would rate the shoes being as just about OK, but no more than that. The shoes are generally comfortable but defects are:
lacing system is very basic and difficult to pull tight,
the uppers are absolutely NOT waterproof - my feet became soaked when walking in steady rain for about 30 minutes
and, as a consequence, the shoe uppers have stretched and become saggy even though they were dried out properly.
Overall, I am disappointed and could not recommend them as a purchase. I wish I had spent a bit more on a different brand.
